The Political "Image" And "Harlot"
Influence Of The "Beast" On Earth
And Its Cities Are About To Be Desolated.
 

Loudly they declared their virtues,
though crimes were silently confined.
Waded through slaughters
to a worldly throne.

Shutting the gates of mercy
on mankind.
Are caught alive,(1)abyssed,(2)
forever tormented (3) alone.

Can flattery or glory soothe their
dulled ears in death?
Or those cold hearts once pregnant
with destructive fire?

Were rich with spoils of men,
-- their very breath.
Became the pride of many nations,
to everlasting graves did aspire.

Their lovers, haters of the Lamb, (4)
will grieve.
In all nations who protested
the fall of Babylon's cities. (5)

God has remembered her religious harlots, (6)
habitations of demons (7) who deceive.
Destroying them. Then begins His rule (8)
over His remnant whom He pities. (9)
