Regarding the change prophesied to take place during the Day Of The Lord, we are told: "On that day deaf men shall hear when a book is read, and the eyes of the blind shall see out of impenetrable darkness."  (Isaiah 29:18 NEB).  Only Almighty God can bring about these miraculous changes.

No longer will the religion of mankind be learned by rote* as is now the case, and described in Isaiah 29:13 as follows: "This people approach Me with their mouths and honour Me with their lips while their hearts are far from Me, and their religion is but a precept of men, learnt by rote". (NEB).

"The first step to wisdom is the fear of the Lord, and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding".  (Prov 9:10 NEB). This is a holy fear, a fear of displeasing Him by thinking, saying or doing something we know our Creator disapproves of.

WHEN WILL THESE CHANGES TAKE PLACE?
Soon we will witness the prophesied physical and spiritual changes. It will be when those warring against spiritual Mount Zion are suddenly awakened to the Spirit of the Lord's Judgement within them. His Spirit "fire" will continue until all ruthless enemies of Mount Zion shall "crumble into dust" and "fly like chaff". (Isaiah 29:5-7 NEB).  For: "the tyrant must reach his end, and the bragger must come to his finish, and all those keeping alert to do harm must be cut off".  (Isaiah 29:20 NWT).

After the complete removal of these enemies of God, the heavenly temple sanctuary of God will be opened and Godly worship at the festivals of booths will begin. (Rev 11:19). "And in that day the deaf ones will certainly hear the words of the book, and out of the gloom and out of the darkness even the eyes of the blind ones will see." (Isaiah 29:18).  Then those who were spiritually "deaf" or "blind" will come to understand the spiritual meaning of the Word of God, and "those whose minds are confused will gain understanding, and the obstinate will receive instruction."  (Isaiah 29:24 NEB).

When these physical and spiritual changes take place, lowly and righteous ones will rejoice worldwide. They will no longer be oppressed by ruthless and arrogant ones, or be falsely accused of sins or crimes, or be denied justice by another's falsehood. For those responsible for such evil activities will be exterminated.  (Isaiah 29:20,21 NEB).
