BILL.

Old Bill he says: "I was a Ted,"
On sixties music so happily fed.
We learned never to put a mic in his hand,
For he'd sing all the lyrics of every band in the land.

But Bill makes us laugh, until it hurts.
"Cos, you must have the basics," or so he asserts.
"You must have a laugh," as he so often says,
But I wonder if he really means what he says.

I think of him alone in his little flat,
And whether he's lonely, despite all his chat.

He's a jolly soul, he never seems sad,
He lives so simply, makes everyone glad.
Surely, he must have a serious side too?
"You must have the basics," he'll keep telling you.

Bill's thoughts, and his patter, run on like a train,
And will lift your heart, you'll forget all the pain.
So this I will say with certainty Bill,
I'm your friend, send for me, any time you are ill.
