CHOOSE THE SUBJECT ON THE BASIS OF HOPE.

Even though mankind was "subjected to
futility" and "on the basis of hope",
Most poets write observations on nature.
In spiritual verse they rarely grope.

Better to teach His righteous principles,
The truth that leads to eternal life,
Than verses describing the beauty of nature,
That build not the faith of man in his strife.

In us our love for God is but partial,
Until, that is, we accurately know,
It's a hazy outline in a misty mirror,
 Until in selfless love our spirit is shown.

When The Christ spoke of spirituality,
The untaught with him could not stay,
So he spoke to them by way of parables,
To assure them, and us, of the hope and The Way.

Proverbs and Psalms were both penned in verse,
Giving wisdom, discipline, the comfort of prayer,
Speaking less of the things that our eyes can see,
Than of spiritual need and Godly care.

Poets themselves should not be discouraged,
But since the Rule of God is about to begin,
Verses that teach from His Word is encouraged,
As a means by which we may counteract sin.
