THE "CONTEMPTIBLE CREATURE"
OF DANIEL'S VISION. (Dan Ch.11).

The "contemptible creature" of Daniel's prophecy is to be understood in a two-fold way:|

"A CONTEMPTIBLE CREATURE WILL SUCCEED BUT WILL
NOT BE GIVEN RECOGNITION AS KING…" (DAN 11:21 NEB).

THE CONTEMPTIBLE CREATURE who seized "the kingdom"* "by dissimulation and intrigue in time of peace", has proven to be Ayatollah Khomeini, now of Iran. With fraudulent alliances and with 'few people' "behind him" (V.23) he is now rousing "himself in all his strength" to "lead a great army against the king of the south" (V.25), namely against the demon-cracies, or as his people call them, 'the great satan'.(2)
THE ONE WHO RETURNED "TO HIS OWN LAND" (V. 28): This one returned to his own land "with anger in his heart" because "his will" was against the covenant of God and His people; a covenant he was not under, so he called himself the leader of the liberation (PLO). (V.28). And, "on his way back he will take due note of those who have forsaken it" (the holy covenant). (V.30). The ships from the west did war against him and remove him; namely, the man Arafat. *(3)
"THE ABOMINABLE THING THAT CAUSES DESOLATION" (V.32) has been spiritually explained in much detail in Pages 849, 837, 838, 862 and 840 of the "Little Scroll". They still do congregate in a similar manner today (in sports stadiums), as their kind did in the distant past as written up in the minor fulfilment of 1 Maccabees 1:14 (NEB); and do so throughout the majority of countries of the world today. They call themselves Jehovah's Witnesses.(4)
"THIS KING TOO WILL MEET HIS END" (V.20): The "contemptible creature", Ayatollah Khomeini, succeeded in ruling in place of this king who was called the Shah of Iran. This king did "meet his end, yet neither openly nor in battle". (V.20). He died of a disease while in exile forced upon him by the "contemptible creature". Therefore, almost all of Daniel's vision for the "time of the end", both in its generalisations and its details, have now been fulfilled. This leaves:|

"He will establish himself in the fairest of all lands and it will come wholly into his power...'He will be succeeded by one who will send out an officer with a royal escort to extort tribute; after a short time this king too will meet his end, yet neither openly nor in battle. 'A contemptible creature will succeed but will not be given recognition as king; yet he will seize the kingdom by dissimulation and intrigue in time of peace. He will sweep away all forces of opposition as he advances, and even the Prince of the Covenant will be broken. He will enter into fraudulent alliances and, although the people behind him are but few, he will rise to power and establish himself in time of peace. He will overrun the richest districts of the province and succeed in doing what his fathers and forefathers failed to do, distributing spoil, booty, and property to his followers...Then one will return home with a long baggage-train, and with anger in his heart against the Holy Covenant; he will work his will and return to his own land. 'At the appointed time he will once more overrun the south, but he will not succeed as he did before. Ships from the west will sail against him, and he will receive a rebuff. He will turn and vent his fury against the Holy Covenant; and on his way back he will take due note of those who have forsaken it. Armed forces dispatched by him will desecrate the sanctuary and the citadel and do away with the regular offering. And there they will set up "the abominable thing that causes desolation". He will win over by plausible promises those who are ready to condemn the covenant, but the people who are faithful to their God will hold firm and fight back. Wise leaders of the nation will give guidance to the common people; yet for a while they will fall victims to fire and sword, to captivity and pillage...Some of these leaders+ will themselves fall victims for a time so that they may be tested, refined and made shining white...The king will do what he chooses; he will exalt and magnify himself above every god and against the God of gods he will utter monstrous blasphemies. All will go well for him until the time of wrath ends, for what is determined must be done. He will ignore his ancestral gods...but will exalt himself above them all. Instead he will honour the god of the citadel, a god unknown to his ancestors, with gold and silver, gems and costly gifts. He will garrison his strongest fortresses with aliens, the people of a foreign god. Those whom he favours he will load with honour, putting them in office over the common people and distributing land at a price. 'At the time of the end…the king of the north...will overrun land after land...amongst them the fairest of all lands, and tens of thousands shall fall victims. Yet all these lands [including Edom and Moab and the remnant of the Ammonites] will survive his attack...and Egypt will not escape. He will gain control of her hidden stores of gold and silver and of all her treasures; Libyans and Cushites will follow in his train. Then rumours from east and north will alarm him, and he will depart in a great rage to destroy and to exterminate many. He will pitch his royal pavilion between the sea and the holy hill, the fairest of all hills; and he will meet his end with no one to help him. At that moment Michael* shall appear…the great captain, who stands guard over your fellow-countrymen; and there will be a time of distress such as has never been since they became a nation till that moment. But at that moment your people will be delivered, every one whose is written in the book: many of those who sleep in the dust of the earth will wake, some to everlasting life and some to the reproach of eternal abhorrence. The wise leaders+ shall shine like the bright vault of heaven, and those who gave guided the people in the true path shall be like the stars for ever and ever.'" THE 'CONTEMPTIBLE CREATURE
'. (NEB).This creature mentioned in Daniel 11:21 is not just one person, but symbolises many. They came to fulfilment after the death of the king mentioned in Daniel 11:20, namely the Shah of Iran.
These men are contemptuous of all others, in particular nations over whom they seized power of authority by dissimulation in a time of peace. These nations of people over whom they seized effective power then came under a cloud-like "time of distress", and is when the wrath of God comes to an end. Finally, nations active with this spirit creature's influence "meet their end in Israel, the fairest of all hills" (Dan 11:45 NEB), having had the people's will exposed within these nations. (Dan 11:36,37. 12:1).
THE CONTEMPTIBLE CREATURE(S) OF TERROR.
These are leaders of terror under demonic influence. It was Arafat in the "fairest of all lands" of Lebanon's Palestine. Also Begin and continuing with Shamir in the "fairest of all hills" in Israel. It was Sadat in Egypt, followed by Gadaffi in Libya. Khomeini and Hussain in Iran and Iraq. At first, the people behind them are only few. (Dan 11:23). All of these have done what they chose, exalting and magnifying themselves over all sectarian religions, until finally even over the authority of the one true God. They use wealth and military force and even utter monstrous blasphemies against God.
"WHAT IS DETERMINED". (Dan 11:38 NEB):
Is the defined separating of the Godly, from the unGodly who give in to these "creatures". In contrast, "wise leaders" guide people in the true path.
Each time Michael appears, that particular nation to whom he appears experience distress, and is accordingly revealed, until what is determined is done. Therefore, this distress is different and greater than any previous distress, as it determines one's future: "Some to everlasting life and some to the reproach of eternal abhorrence". (Dan 12:2 NEB). The latter will be awakened spiritually to know fully the extent of their spirit rejection of God, at the arrival of His righteous Kingdom. Everlasting life to only a few remaining faithful within these nations, while contemptuous ones experience the everlasting shameful reproach of being an abhorrent spirit.
THE "ABOMINABLE THING". (Dan 11:32 NEB).
The expression "abominable thing" was used to describe a great religious apostasy, and was fulfilled when the power of the holy people was dispersed. It began to be fulfilled spiritually in Christ's congregations, and in the literal sense in Iran by Khomeini, around December 1971 and ending in January 1979. The periods mentioned in Daniel Chapter 12 were when the composite abominable thing(s) were put in place, after rejecting and removing God's anointed temple sons. This has left apostate congregations desolate as to God's Spirit channels of His communications.

A "CONTEMPTIBLE CREATURE". (Daniel 11:21 NEB).
Mankind is likened to seas, sometimes boisterous and sometimes calm. Certain elements and conditions at one point in time are imposed within civilizations to bring about change for specific purposes. In this regard, and to identify who the influences are, I will quote a passage from Daniel 10:13,14: "But the angel prince of the kingdom of Persia resisted me for twenty-one days, and then, seeing that I had held out there, Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me against the prince of the kingdom of Persia. And I have come to explain to you what will happen to your people in days to come; for this too is a vision for those days". (NEB).
Therefore, it might help one, if it is pointed out that throughout Daniel Chapters 11 and 12 there are both spiritual and physical fulfilments taking place now, in the "time of the end". (Dan 11:40 NEB). That spirit angels of God are in contention with the satanic guardian angel of Persia (Dan 10:13 NEB) and Greece (Dan 10:20 to 11:1 NEB). Also important to note, is that the fourth king and "contemptible creature" is a human.
The "disgusting thing" (NWT), also called the "appalling abomination" (Moffatt), and the "abominable thing" (NEB), are all the same, depending on the translation used. Spiritually, it is a rebellion within congregations of God by apostates who shifted the responsibilities away from Spirit anointed members. (Dan 11:31 NWT). (See "The Signal". Appendix 29-33).
AT THE "TIME OF THE END".
Besides having contempt for the Shah, this spirit "creature" has proved contemptuous against God and the high priest of the covenant of God, Jesus The Christ. The angel prince of Persia motivated this creature whose name is Khomeini. He came to power by his disobedience to the law of the king of Persia, seizing that kingdom by dissimulations and intrigues when Persia was in a time of peace; though he still has not been given recognition as king. (Dan 11:21 NEB). His seizure of the kingdom took place when millions of Iranians throughout all the main towns and cities instead listened to his 'will', and was when, on Friday 19th January 1979, the people also demon-strated against their king. (See: 'The Fall of the Shah: The end of an era'. By Fereydoun Hoveyda). The Shah Pahlavi was Persia's fourth king.
Among other things, it was the end of the 2,300 evenings and mornings, to the day of January 19th 1979. (Dan 8:14). Following this period, the remaining "things will come to their finish". (Dan 12:7 NWT). The influence of the guardian angel was imposed effectively over Persians (Iranians), proving their spirit aspect in the "time of the end" of this systems of things. Khomeini, their "warrior king" without kingly recognition, is now at war with other nations.
The king of the North (Persia), and the king of the South (Egypt), were such at the time of Daniel's projected vision. Today, it helps us to know these particular fulfilments. But now we understand the meaning of the symbolic kings of the North and South in a far greater way. The vision was concerning Daniel's people "in days to come". (Dan 10:14 NEB).

A WARRIOR KING OF DANIEL 11:2 NEB.(2)
"And he will certainly prove successful until (the) denunciation will have come to a finish". (NWT).(3)
"…he shall prosper till the wrath Divine has run its course". (Moffatt).(4)
And: "he will meet his end with no one to help him. At that moment Michael shall appear".KHOMEINI IS DYING (demonic instrument of contempt against God's covenant).
Khomeini has been used, and his kingdom "shattered" by war, it will not pass to his descendants, nor will any of his successors have an empire like his. (Dan 11:4 NEB). His empire was the Islamic revolution under the angel prince over Persia; until Michael stands up.
