It is my understanding that both man and womankind have their God-given places in life can bring about peaceful harmony. But the gap between their disobedience and what they are allowed has indeed widened. Hopefully, after the initial shock, female readers will ponder on the following verses and become sufficiently annoyed as to check the written Law. It may even change some for the better. Only the lives of those who obey the good order that God has laid down are blessed.

Equality?
(From 1 Cor 14:33-36).

"I know Christ's law! That women are not allowed
to speak or teach in Christ's congregations,
That we should ask our husbands our questions at home.
But I like to teach from house to house and help
To 'trample' this law and men slaves of the Lord."

"Obey Christ's law!
Or as the 'mire of streets'
(1) you will become known."

"Me and my man are equal! I refuse to reflect his glory.
(2)
I would rather sulk and wilfully deprive him of dues.
Anyway, my sort has cunningly reinterpreted such laws!
Why should we complement men? We are their equals."

"Then you will be abandoned without acknowledgement,
along with your unGodly views."

"My man lives dishonourably! In speech and habits.
And I cannot honour dishonour, you say;
But if I show him chaste conduct
(3) instead, my good
example may save him, eventually he may change?"

"Throwing tantrums won't help, or getting your way.
Respect him, obey Christ's law, and true love
he will arrange."
