ON LOVE.

After giving proper consideration to the spiritual teaching from the apostles John and Matthew on the subject of love, we realize that it is not possible for anyone to truly love another, or genuinely claim that we show love to others, if we disobey the two most important commandments of God.  (Matt 22:36-40)  (2 John V.5,6).

The rules and regulations of the Mosaic Law given to the Jewish nation under the old covenant were annulled (made obsolete) by the ransom sacrifice of The Christ; for they divided off the Jews from the Gentiles. (Heb 8:6-13.  Eph 2:14,15 NEB). But The Lord's Ten Commandments are still in force. They do not divide off any nation, and must forever be obeyed.  (Exodus 20:1-17.  Mal 4:4).

The two commandments in Matthew 22:36-40 describe how one shows true love. The Christ was asked: "'Master, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?' He answered, '"Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind." That is the greatest commandment. It comes first. The second is like it: "Love your neighbour as yourself." Everything in the Law and the prophets hangs on these two commandments.'"  (NEB).

So how does one obey the "greatest commandment" with regard to God, and the second commandment in relation to one's neighbours? That is to say, how does one "Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind"? The answer is by one's heartfelt obedience to the Spirit Law of God set out in the New Testament revealed through The Christ Michael by Holy Spirit from God, and by making it known by means of the Word and Christian example to one's neighbours.  (1 Peter 2:11,12). "So now I request… not a new commandment, but one which we had from the beginning, that we love one another. And this is what love means, that we go on walking according to His commandments. This is the commandment, just as you people have heard from the beginning, that you should go on walking in it."  (2 John V.5,6).

THE EXAMPLE.
When a Christian sees a neighbour constantly sinning, but does not make this known to them by example and the Holy Scriptures, they are not showing love to their neighbour as they would like love to be shown them. If, after being told of his sin a neighbour is unrepentant and continues to sin, you have at least pleased God by observing the second commandment of The Christ, showing a measure of love to him for his benefit. You will not share in the bloodguilt of such a man if he is judged by God for his sin.  (For this Judgement principle, please read: Ezekiel 3:17-21).
