They came just like a thief unto the minds that will not see,
In heaven and on earth and even in the very sea.

"Hail and fire mingled with blood" was hurled upon Japan, (1)
As two atomic bombs were dropped to force the nation's hand.

The nuclear ambitions of the world were then unleashed,
And a great malignant "ulcer" was revealed upon the "beast". (2)

And when a "blazing mountain" was discharged into the sea,
A third of all the ships were wrecked to test its ferocity. (3)

By these events the 1st and 2nd "trumpets" had been blown,
The 1st and 2nd "bowls" outpoured, but who on earth had known?

Next the earthquake that destroyed a tenth of Mexico City,
Seven thousand names of men died for their iniquity. (4)

And then the stately River Nile, its glorious channels dried,
Created a drought and famine in which the Ethiopians died. (5)

Unclean expressions just like "frogs" among the world were made,
And millions said they 'Ran The World' for money and for aid. (6)

With Babylon/Iraq remembered in a hail of shells, (7)
The "cup" of wrath from God was given, to them a living hell.

"Look!  I am coming as a thief"     stay spiritually awake!  (8)
Or you will be found "naked" and ashamed of your mistakes.

Now the "second woe" has passed, to be followed by the third,
When God begins His Sovereign Rule according to His Word. (9)

Then Almighty God shall pour His wrath "upon the air", (10)
And sweep away the Godless ones that live without a care.
