THE FULFILMENT OF THE PROPHECY OF ISAIAH
CONCERNING THE DESOLATION OF "BABYLON".

""Hark, a tumult in the mountains, the sound of a vast multitude; hark, the roar of kingdoms, of nations gathering! The Lord of Hosts is mustering a host for war, men from a far country, from beyond the horizon." #

It is the Lord with the weapons of His wrath coming to lay the whole land waste. Howl, for the Day of the Lord is at hand; it comes, a mighty blow from Almighty God. Thereat shall every hand hang limp, every man's courage shall melt away, his stomach hollow with fear; anguish shall grip them, like a woman in labour. One man shall look aghast at another, and their faces shall burn with shame.

The Day of the Lord is coming indeed, that cruel day of wrath and fury, to make the land a desolation and exterminate its wicked people. The stars of heaven in their constellations shall give no light; the sun shall be darkened at its rising, and the moon refuse to shine. I will bring disaster upon the world and their due punishment upon the wicked. I will check the pride of the haughty and bring low the arrogance of ruthless men. I will make men scarcer than fine gold, rarer than gold of Ophir.

Then the heavens shall shudder, and the earth shall be shaken from its place at the fury of the Lord of Hosts, on the day of His anger. Then, like a gazelle before the hunter or a flock with no man to round it up, each man will go back to his own people, every one will flee to his own land. All who are found will be stabbed, all who are taken will fall by the sword; their infants will be dashed to the ground before their eyes, their houses rifled and their wives ravished. I will stir up against them the Medes, who care nothing for silver and are not tempted by gold, who have no pity on little children and spare no mother's son; and Babylon, fairest of kingdoms, proud beauty of the Chaldaeans, shall be like Sodom and Gomorrah when God overthrew them. Never again shall she be inhabited, no man shall dwell in her through all the ages;  there no Arab shall pitch his tent, no shepherds fold their flocks."  (Isaiah 13:4-20 NEB).

(1) THE FULFILMENT.
The "standard" of Isaiah 13:2 is a worldwide summons to rally all the nations and their "nobles" for the war against Almighty God and His incoming Kingdom on earth. The "fighting men" that God is mustering for the war are His faithful anointed sons, sanctified to express His righteous anger upon Godless mankind. "They are coming from the land far away, from the extremity of the heavens, Jehovah and the weapons of His denunciation, to wreck all the earth." #  This shall wreck sectarian and commercial "Babylon", and the Babylon of modern-day Iraq.  (Isaiah 13:1-5 NEB & NWT #).

(2) AN INDICATOR OF THE WRATH OF GOD AGAINST "BABYLON".
The spirit among mankind will feel "dark", so much so that they will feel the "stars of heaven in their constellations shall give no light, the sun shall be darkened at its rising, and the moon refuse to shine."  (Isaiah 13:10 NEB).

(3) The Lord and the "weapons of His wrath" are ready to "lay the whole land waste."  (Isaiah 13:5 NEB).

(4) Because people will no longer feel safe in a foreign land, "each man will go back to his own people, every one will flee to his own land." (Isaiah 13:14 NEB). As for those who do not flee: "All who are found will be stabbed, all who are taken will fall by the sword".  (13:15 NEB).

(5) THE DESTINY OF BABYLON/IRAQ AND ITS PEOPLE.
Almighty God "will stir up against them the Medes" who care nothing for the wealthy, their wives, or their children. The Medes are modern-day Iran.  (Isaiah 13:17,18 NEB). "Babylon... shall be like Sodom and Gomorrah... Never again shall she be inhabited, no man shall dwell in her through all the ages". (13:19,20 NEB). The Lord of Hosts will rise up against them: "I will destroy the name of Babylon and what remains of her, her offspring and posterity".  (14:22,23 NEB).

(6) THE REASON FOR GOD'S ANGER AGAINST SATAN AND HIS FOLLOWERS.
"For you have ruined your land and slaughtered your people. Such a brood of evildoers shall never be seen again. Make the shambles * ready for his sons butchered for their fathers' sin; they shall not rise up and possess the world nor cover the face of the earth with cities." (Isaiah 14:20,21 NEB).  Iraqis still commit the sins that their forefathers committed.

(7) THE DESTINY OF THE WORLD.
"I will bring disaster upon the world and their due punishment upon the wicked". (Isaiah 13:11 NEB). The satanic activity of the "oppressor" has been implemented through the "rod" of wicked rulers worldwide.  (14:4-6 NEB).

(8) THE DESTINY OF PEOPLE OF GOD.
Jehovah has promised "relief from your pain and your fears and from the cruel slavery laid upon you" by satan the "king of Babylon". (Isaiah 14:3,4 NEB). "The Lord will show compassion for Jacob and will once again make Israel His choice. He will settle them on their own soil, and strangers will come to join them and attach themselves to Jacob."  (14:1 NEB).

(9) AFTER THE ABYSSING OF SATAN THE "KING OF BABYLON".
"The whole world has rest and is at peace; it breaks into cries of joy." (Isaiah 14:7 NEB).  The abyssing of satan, and the removal of his evil influence in his people, will expose them to spirit shame.
