Attending this "meal" was not to eat food for the stomach,
(1)
But to be spiritually fed on the Divine "Way" of The Christ,
(2)
To bring to memory one's deeds since the "meal" the year before,
(3)
And to be judged if living unworthily of the "body" of Christ.
(4)
When judged and spiritually disciplined we are being created!
(5)
Not an imperfect body that dies, but the spirit that thrives.
(6)
"Eat" his flesh? "Drink" his blood?
"This speech is shocking"!
(7)
Such emblems are symbolic, to proclaim his death until he arrives.
(8)
We were not told to celebrate his birth, but the meaning of his
death,
To follow the "Way" of the
"new covenant" of God's love.
(9)
Not to be mindful of worldly matters that are temporary,
But of the Spirit of God and the everlasting life that is in Christ.
