These verses were written in such a way as to reveal some examples of unacceptable prayers being offered up by unreconciled souls; those who presumptuously try to pray to God while at the same time being aware of their unchanged wicked lives against God's Will. Also bearing in mind that the extending of mercy to one must have its work complete, otherwise it becomes the sanctioning of the continuance of sin.
Father, Bless The Evils We Want To Keep.
Father, from our youth we have disobeyed Your Spirit laws,
but now, please bless us, and
be merciful, draw a veil over all our disobedience.
We still love persecuting Your servants Father,
but now, please bless us, and
be merciful. Forgive our hateful ways.
We adore celebrities, and their false evil glories,
but now, please bless us, and
be merciful, while we worship our idols.
We admire and support our political leaders,
but now, please bless us, and
be merciful, don't give us the mark of extermination.
We have corrupted laws, and we use them to deceive,
but now, please bless us, and
be merciful, although we remove justice from the righteous.
We ignore the calamities You send to teach us better ways,
but now, please bless us, and
be merciful, stop demolishing buildings, making the earth shake.
We know we construct inhuman buildings that reach the sky,
but now, please bless us, and
be merciful, our commercial 'Babylon' must reach high.
We oppress the poor, and create the obscenely rich,
but now, please bless us, and
be merciful, while we enjoy our self-exalted places.
We love only ear-tickling sermons that require nothing of us,
but now, please bless us, and
be merciful, we need you to console our wickedness.

Such disobedient ones pray to God in earnest when in trouble, regardless of their unreconciled lives. Their prayers are really offered up to satan, in the belief that they are offered up to God.
